MED Grid Solutions is the department accountable for value engineering, contractual risk management, implementation & product management on grid connection, grid compliance & plant control solutions in Vestas power plants along the full project value chain (Development, Sales, Construction and Service stages) in Mediterranean Region, including South & Eastern European, African, Middle Eastern countries.
Responsibilities
- Wind Grid Connection Codes scouting & interpretations and pro-active communication with Transmission & Distribution System Operators in Eastern EU countries with special focus on Romania and Bulgaria
- Input Grid related market requirements to Vestas R&D ensuring future compliance and competitiveness of Grid offerings
- Provide technical support to the Sales Dept. during contract negotiation and bid definition in relation to electrical and grid requirements to comply with the applicable standards and technical specifications of the customer
- Participation in team selling approach and building value in each individual project and different customer profiles and conduct technical reviews of the customers' tender documentation and related risk mitigation on project specific basis
- Optimize business cases and lead value engineering initiatives for Grid offerings and Prepare technical contractual Annex
- Provide technical support to the project implementation and commissioning in relation to electrical and grid requirements specific to the project, and to the design, implementation and testing of wind power plant control solutions
- Provide technical support to customers, contractors, grid operators & utilities, in relation to wind power technology performance and capabilities to ensure their integration into plant design and system interconnection
Qualifications
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems
- 5+ years of relevant work experience on grid connection of wind power plants from Wind Industry or from System Operators (e.g. TRANSELECTRICA)
- Knowledge about wind power technology (electrical design and control of WTGs and PPC)
- Knowledge about TRANSELECTRICA grid connection code requirements
- Knowledge about HV, MV equipment and Substation design and power system stability, control and analysis
- Knowledge about electrical simulation SW like Power Factory, PSCAD, or open modelling libraries and tools will be beneficial
- Knowledge about Energy Market in Romania and be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken
Competencies
- Ability to work with no supervision with an international team and to establish good team working relations is essential
- Ability to rearrange and shift priorities in a changing situation
- You need to communicate and present well, feeling sure when talking to and presenting to external stakeholders, such as customers and grid operators
- Good technical skills with a focus on creative solutions and motivation to meet customer needs
- Ability to summarize technical topics for non-technical stakeholders
- Highly structured and well organized
- Good travel disposition (about 15% of time) in support of customer needs and overall business objectives in MED area
