Vestas MED is a sales & production business unit geographically covering South & East Mediterranean Europe, Middle East and Africa. We are responsible for the Sales function, Project, Installation and Service operation of wind farms throughout these regions. The Inbound Transport and Customs department is integrated into Regional Supply Chain structure and supports with dedicated responsibilities both over PBUs and SBUs.
Responsibilities
Transport & Customs in Vestas MED have the overall responsibility to secure a well-functioning import and export process to fulfill the business needs in markets across the MED region with the possible lowest cost; while ensuring we are conducting our business in compliance with internal and external rules and regulations. Your responsibilities may include:
- Address and support customs & transport issues concerning new market entry
- Support, coordinate, develop, and monitor the customs brokerage and transport business in MED
- Assist the sales business units with due diligence calculations
- Participate in developing concepts and processes across regions to assist in reducing the overall operating costs
- Operationally address customs handling in the MED region
- Support on customs audits
- Support on transport booking & execution
- Ensure that relevant stakeholders are kept updated on customs issues and changes to regulations that may have compliance or cost impacts
- Support on invoicing and ensure correct P2P application
- Reduce P&B
- Create local recording of customs & shipping documents related to import/export of each country
- Provide accurate reporting as per unit needs
- Coordinate general freight transportation of site parts and transport equipment for projects in execution
- Monitor transportation of Site parts and Tools for Service operation
- Overall guiding the team across multifunctional activities in the assigned cluster
Qualifications
- 8 years of work experience, with at least 5 years of relevant experience (within transport and customs in industrial retail, or in the forwarding industry supporting industry retail, or a similar role in customs brokerage services)
- University-level degree in engineering, technical or commercials
- Solid knowledge of North Africa, East Africa and MENA import/export processes and customs requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of international trade terminology and customs regulation in North Africa, East Africa and MENA regions
- Experience in a large international forwarding company, complex industrial projects or customs broker operating in West Europe. North Africa and MENA regions adds value
- Graduated in international trade or customs compliance is desirable
Competencies
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) and good communication skills
- Good proficiency in Russian or Arabic is valuable
- Ability to maneuver and communicate among authorities and with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to outline processes and suggest implementation strategies
- Innovative and problem-solving capability
- Solid analytical skills and ability to identify details and to draw and communicate conclusions among different stakeholders
- A collaborative and international mindset
- Good proficiency in IT with a solid knowledge of ERP systems
