Job Summary
The main responsibilities of the Sustainable Development Manager are:
- Accompany the transformation of the company's business models and participate in the definition of the strategy to minimize the negative impacts of the company on its environment. It implements values within all the company's stakeholders on environmental, social, societal and governance aspects.
- Participate in the deployment of the group's CSR strategy, based on the group's 4 CSR pillars, and the dedicated CSR program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Project coordination and follow-up
- Participate in the definition of the strategy and implement it in line with the company's values, other policies and constraints (HR, production, safety, prevention, etc.)
- Relay and support the implementation of the sustainable development and CSR strategy to all the company's departments according to their specificities and constraints thanks to a dedicated team (referents);
- Adapt and evolve this strategy according to regulatory and normative developments at the national and international level as well as the expectations of the company's stakeholders (investors and the public), in particular, ensure an active watch on changes in regulations or national requirements ;
- Train management (top and middle) and employees on the theme of sustainable development and CSR; Supervise the team dedicated to the issue of sustainable development and CSR and coordinate actions with all contributing departments (HR, QHSE, purchasing, compliance, etc.)
- Manage and deploy the group's CSR strategy, in particular on the challenges of decarbonization, human rights and listening to stakeholders;
- Propose impactful actions, allowing staff to be mobilized around CSR issues (organization of initiatives during world days related to environmental, social, societal issues; partnerships with recognized local associations; internal challenge to boost staff initiatives; etc.)
- Bring the Group's CSR program to life and apply it to our third parties (customers, suppliers, associations, etc.)
Animation and Awareness of Sustainable Development Issues
- Identify areas related to CSR and sustainable development in the company: environmental, social, societal, governance aspects, etc.;
- Design and/or disseminate awareness-raising tools on CSR and sustainable development issues and issues and implement an awareness campaign with the various business departments taking into account their specificities and operating constraints;
- Raise awareness and/or train staff on CSR and sustainable development concepts;
Communication and External Lobbying
- Represent the company and participate in negotiations with stakeholders: customers, investors, elected officials, associations, etc. ;
- Disseminate and promote the actions carried out by the company to the media, external partners, customers, etc. to influence the company's brand image;
- Participate in events, meetings, circles and trainings on sustainable development and CSR;
- Monitor best practices, regulatory techniques and standards, recommendations relating to developments in the field of sustainable development, CSR and the social impact of companies;
Improved performance
- Design or identify tools and indicators to assess environmental performance and corporate social responsibility;
- Determine areas of optimization and help operational managers to achieve savings by supporting them in the follow-up of action plans;
- Manage the annual reporting required by the Group CSR Department, ensuring good coordination with the various contributing Departments (finance, QHSE, HR, etc.
CSR Analysis and Reporting
- Monitor and analyze the key performance indicators defined by the Group.
- Analyze the footprint of the company's energy and environmental consumption and uses (water, waste, etc.) that have a significant impact;
- Identify and prioritize potential improvement and enhancement actions to be implemented;
- Participate in responses to calls for tenders tendered by the company;
- Manage CSR data acquisition systems and procedures to ensure their reliability;
- Monitor the results and performance of the implementation strategy: identification of indicators and design or identification of monitoring tools, evolution of objectives according to their relevance;
- Draw up reports and assessments of the sustainable development strategy for internal bodies and external control organizations;
- Ensure reporting of its activity;
Stakeholder Assessment
- Remind and explain to interested parties (customers, suppliers, intermediaries, etc.) the procedures and practices in terms of CSR (ethical and CSR charter, responsible purchasing charter, etc.), particularly with regard to Human Rights;
- Participate in the evaluation and referencing of third parties with regard to CSR criteria.
Audit Collaboration
- Participate in internal and external audits aimed at assessing CSR performance (annual audits by an independent third-party body, human rights audits at the request of a client, audit at the request of the group or internal audit).
