Roles and responsibilities:
Assist in the development of research proposals, survey instruments, and methodologies for assessing environmental impacts and sustainability practices.
Assisting with research on the environmental impact of natural disasters or conflict zones.
Assist in collecting and analyzing data on energy access, water resources, and climate change vulnerability in target communities.
Provide administrative and logistical support to project teams working on environmental, energy, and sustainability initiatives, including organizing meetings, preparing reports, and managing project documentation.
Supporting the development and implementation of projects that promote sustainable resource management and climate change resilience.
Assist in community engagement activities, including organizing focus group discussions, conducting interviews, and facilitating participatory assessments.
Participating in data collection efforts in the field related to environmental issues (e.g., water quality testing, deforestation surveys).
Assist in developing content for newsletters, social media platforms, and website updates to highlight environmental initiatives, success stories, and best practices in humanitarian settings.
Participating in community events and meetings to promote environmental awareness and behavior change.
Assist in the design and implementation of environmental education and awareness campaigns targeting affected communities, focusing on topics such as waste management, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
Support the design and implementation of renewable energy projects, such as solar power installations, energy-efficient cookstoves, and off-grid energy solutions.
Support the development and implementation of sustainability monitoring frameworks and indicators to track progress towards environmental sustainability goals in humanitarian operations.
Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on environmental performance metrics, including carbon footprint, water usage, waste generation, and ecosystem health.
Assist in conducting policy analysis and research on environmental and energy policies relevant to humanitarian response and development efforts.
Support advocacy efforts aimed at integrating environmental sustainability considerations into humanitarian policies, programs, and funding mechanisms.
Assist in assessing the climate risks and vulnerabilities of communities affected by humanitarian crises and identifying adaptation strategies to enhance resilience.
Support the development of climate change adaptation plans, disaster risk reduction initiatives, and early warning systems to mitigate environmental risks and protect vulnerable populations.
Assist in organizing training workshops, community meetings, and capacity-building sessions to empower local communities to address environmental challenges and adopt sustainable practices.
Support the establishment of community-based environmental committees or task forces to mobilize community action and leadership on environmental issues.

Requirements/ Qualifications
Should be currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Energy Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft office and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS), GIS software, energy modeling software, or other relevant technical skills related to environmental and energy analysis.
Proficiency in English is typically required. Proficiency in other languages relevant to the geographic context of the internship may be advantageous.
Prior research experience or coursework involving data collection, analysis, and report writing on environmental or sustainability topics is desirable.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
