Job Summary:
Under general supervision, Golf Course Maintenance I or II is responsible for various golf course maintenance duties. All assigned tasks include the preparation and playability of all courses, the driving range, and clubhouse grounds daily for guest and member play. Essential functions include mowing greens, tees, fairways, collars, roughs, edging, raking, and smoothing bunkers. In addition, complete grass trimming around all trees, cart paths, hazards, or other objects, rotating tee markers, cup changing, and maintenance of ball washers.
Description:
- Perform numerous essential functions, such as mowing greens, tees, fairways, collars, roughs, edging, raking, and smoothing bunkers.
- Completes trimming grass around all trees, cart paths, hazards, or other objects, rotating tee markers, changing cups, and maintaining ball washers.
- When applicable, pick up trash, remove limbs, straw, or other debris, and safely operate a chainsaw.
- Cleans and is responsible for the overall maintenance of drains and ditches
- Responsible for the repairs, maintenance, and painting of all structures and golf course accessories
- Bunker maintenance, including debris removal, raking, and edging
- Moving tee markers for daily play
- Operate light handheld machinery, including weed eaters, backpack blowers, and cart path edgers, to maintain cart paths, lake banks, yardage blocks, etc.
- Operate fairway mower to maintain soccer field and fairways, greens mower to maintain golf course greens and tees for daily play
- Operate Lastec mower to maintain primary roughs and grounds master to keep secondary roughs.
- Operate sweeper to maintain high-traffic areas such as clubhouse grounds and cart retrieval.
- Operate tractor and implements; blower, bush hog, etc.
- Operate club car with buffalo blower to remove debris from the golf course and drag mat to spread clippings.
- Maintained signs, ropes & stakes, bollards, timbers, and ball washers to ensure a positive golf guest experience.
- Perform general golf course maintenance, fill divots, and repair damaged turf.
- Assist with drainage installation and maintenance, removing and replacing sod, and cart path repair.
- Perform general housekeeping of maintenance shop and storage areas.
- Perform general preventative equipment maintenance, such as grease, oil, gas, etc.
- Ability to perform verticut greens and roll greens
- Assist Turf and Irrigation managers with the seeding of greens and tees.
- Perform all other job-related duties as arise and directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant golf course, landscape, etc., experience in Golf Course Maintenance I
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant golf course, landscape, etc., experience in Golf Course Maintenance II
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be self-motivated and reliable
- Must be available on rotating weekends and holidays.
- Experience with Toro machinery preferred
- Willingness to learn unfamiliar but essential job functions
- Ability to work within a team.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are required.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- More than 50% of the typical workday will be spent reaching, grasping, and using repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.
- Between 25% and 50% of the typical workday will be spent stooping and crouching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Less than 25% of the typical workday will be spent climbing, balancing, and crawling.
- Visual abilities to perform tasks required of operating machines close up and distant.
- Sensory abilities require vision, hearing, and touching, with more than 50% of the day spent communicating, talking, and hearing.
- You are required to perform work both inside and outside—exposure to extreme heat, high humidity, occasionally adverse weather conditions, and occasional extreme cold.
- Will be exposed to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to chemicals, and subject to vibration.
- It may be subjected to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation.
- Noise levels are considered normal to loud.
