What You’ll do (the role)
SUMMARY
Lightsource bp has gone through an exciting phase of growth and transformation, supported by consultants with Agile & Lean capabilities. 3 years on we are looking for an experienced Head of Agile & Lean with a pragmatic can-do attitude, who enjoys variety of opportunities and working in an ever evolving and fast-moving environment.
The successful candidate will get involved into global and enterprise-wide transformation programmes, covering Agile & Lean elements of both business and digital transformation. They will play a key role in implementing Agile & Lean solutions, increasing our in-house Agile & Lean capabilities and achieve our transformation goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage the Agile & Lean team (Agile Coach and Change Manager) and all relevant Agile & Lean managed service contracts.
- Establish, prioritise and manage delivery of a portfolio of Agile & Lean transformation opportunities across the company.
- Screening of new requests from the business for transformation opportunities which will benefit from application of Agile and/or Lean solutions.
- Performing strategic problem analysis, investigating underlying issues and improvement opportunities.
- Assessing business value drivers and processes to identify improvement opportunities and documenting current and target state processes using Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
- Identifying and managing stakeholder relationships for projects using applicable techniques (e.g., stakeholder maps, RACI).
- Supporting stakeholders with the development of the business case for the improvement opportunity.
- Plan, facilitate and deliver various strategic improvement events (VSM, KE, Sprints) with cross-functional groups of people.
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s transformation governance framework and change control processes.
- Market, plan, schedule and deliver our internal Agile & Lean capability building training, initially supported by experienced training provider.
- Coaching and mentoring of business teams through various tools for example, sharing experience and ideas on Agile & Lean techniques.
- Expand the Agile Academy offering including establishing a Community of Practise and Technical Cohort to push the boundaries of how we continuously adapt and improve Lightsource bp’s ways of working.
- Building good working relationships with internal teams and third parties/vendors as required.
Who we’re looking for
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years' experience of line management with preference for having experience within flat and matrix organisational structures.
- Trained in Agile & Lean with qualification at practitioner level or above in Lean and/or range of training covering Agile techniques.
- 2+ years' experience of putting Agile & Lean skills to use and able to demonstrate a record of those case efforts.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft365 and Visual Collaboration Tools.
- Experience with using Azure DevOps and SPM in ServiceNow not essential but beneficial if already have.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the ability to build impactful relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the company.
- Ability to actively listen to and coach others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor approach to suit the audience and situation.
- Ability to adapt and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent commercial and numerical skills.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and decision-making skills with a high attention to detail.
- Any knowledge of the renewable energy sector would be an advantage.
