PositionSummary:
TheEPCProcurementManagerisresponsibleformanagingallprocurementactivitiesrelatedto the delivery of battery energy storage systems (BESS), furthering the deployment of Canadian Solar’s integrated solution for the utility-scale energy storage market in the United Kingdom.
This role is pivotal in growing a new division within an established renewable energy company, driving productive and sustainable relationships with external and internal business partners (bothsuppliersandcustomers)toensuretheongoingdevelopmentandsuccessofourbusiness expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrateexpertiseinfacilitatingvendorselection,contractnegotiation,and ongoing contract administration for utility-scale battery storage contracts.
- Managerelationshipswithmajorinternationalbatterystorageequipmentvendorsand develop a multi-year procurement strategy in cooperation with the leadership team.
- Buildandmaintainrelationshipswithkeyplayersintheenergystoragemarketplaceto understand and monitor the commercial readiness of emerging technologies; manage vendor onboarding and internal prequalification processes.
- Documentcurrentandfuturepricingguidanceofallbatterytechnologiestoinformcost and technology roadmap development and sourcing strategies.
- Supportandleadbiddingandcontractingeffortsforbatterystoragesourcingin coordination with development, engineering, construction, and legal teams.
- ManagethedevelopmentofRFPdocumentation,biddingstrategies,identification,and qualification of bidders.
- Supporttheevaluationofbidresponsesandmakeshortlistandaward recommendations that drive value creation and mitigate risk.
- Negotiateagreementsregardingscope,price,terms&conditions,delivery,andcontract changes with suppliers.
- Ensureprocurementactivitiesmeetobjectivesrelatedtosafety,cost,delivery performance, schedule, and quality.
- Deliverandsupportteamresolutiononmaterialchangestoagreementsforboth commercial and technical issues.
- Coordinateandmanagetheissuanceandadministrationofpurchaseorders,including coordination of deliveries, invoicing, payment, and lien waivers.
- CollaboratewithEngineeringtogatherandmaintainspecifications,scopesofwork,and standards to be followed for storage projects.
Qualificationsand Requirements:
- Bachelor’sdegreeorrelatedexperienceincontractmanagement,supplychain management, or procurement.
- Minimum5-7yearsofbroadprocurementandcontractsexperienceinbatterystorage preferred; related industries will be considered.
- DemonstratedexperiencemanagingRFPdocumentation,biddingstrategies, identification, and qualification of bidders.
- DeepunderstandingofEngineering,Procurement,andConstruction(EPC)andthe relationship between vendors and suppliers.
- Effectivenegotiationskills.
- Experiencemanaginginternationalvendorsandsuppliersisrequired.
- Can-dopersonality;competitiveanddriven.
- Excellentinterpersonalrelationsanddemonstratedabilitytoworkeffectivelyinteams.
