Senior Civil Designer
We are proud to be partnering with Stantec – Energy & Resources to deliver the study for a world-class gold project in Southeast Asia. Stantec are assembling a highly skilled team across Australia to deliver the Kingking project.
Resourcing this study from Australia reflects Stantec’s strategy to increase its focus on major projects, strengthening capability in the local resources sector while contributing to global delivery.
As a flagship project, its successful outcome will provide strong visibility within Stantec and could open doors to future opportunities, both in Australia and across their global network.
With a strong pipeline developing and positive momentum across the major projects team, Stantec are already putting additional senior hires in place and are close to securing further major project work. This role is one they see being part of the team long term as they continue to expand their major project delivery footprint
About the Project
This large-scale greenfield development is progressing through its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS), with early works and execution phases to follow.
The project presents the complexities typical of major gold and copper developments in the region:
-
Extensive bulk earthworks, drainage, and hydrology challenges in difficult terrain
-
Remote project location, requiring robust planning for logistics and non-process infrastructure
-
Large and diverse work packages across civil, NPI, port, and process plant scope
-
Study-level outcomes that will form the baseline for execution
About the Role
As Civil Designer, you will support the development of study-level deliverables across bulk earthworks, flood, drainage, hydrology, NPI, and port facilities. Responsibilities include:
-
Producing design deliverables for bulk earthworks, drainage, hydrology, NPI, and port infrastructure
-
Contributing to study-level design work that can be refined during execution
-
Proficiency with Civil 3D or OpenRoads is required. Experience with Bentley or similar platforms will also be considered, though candidates with only 12D experience are unlikely to be suitable.
-
Compiling and integrating GIS/Arc outputs to support study reporting
-
Working alongside engineers and designers across multiple offices to maintain consistency of approach
About You
We are seeking civil designers with:
-
Strong design capability in bulk earthworks, drainage, hydrology, NPI, and port facilities
-
Hands-on experience with Autodesk (Civil 3D preferred); Bentley or equivalent design software considered
-
Prior experience supporting feasibility study deliverables for mining or large infrastructure projects
-
Ability to adapt study-level outcomes for refinement during detailed design and execution
-
Collaborative approach to working across offices and disciplines
