The leader of Verification and Validation will be responsible for ensuring the robustness and reliability of Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear and control-gear products. In this role, you will develop testing plans at the squad level and oversee their implementation. This position is an individual contributor role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and lead the Verification and Validation plan (including type test and certification) with robust test coverage and design margin.
- Anticipate testing needs related to squad activity.
- Prepare, propose, and manage the budget and testing schedule including the total number of prototypes and the configurations to be tested.
- Coordinate and ensure the right coverage of verification plan with the companion project squads.
- Trace and record the configurations and version of test samples (including the key parts which may impact test results) from squads.
- Integrate in the verification plan all inputs coming from mission profile, DFMEA, and standards.
- Coordinate the preparation and the execution of verification and validation tests.
- Support the technical project team to analyze test results and propose solutions.
- Be responsible for the completeness and non-redundancy of the test plan.
- Translate the offer requirements into a product and system validation plan.
- Follow the test campaigns in internal Schneider Electric laboratories and in external Laboratories.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- 20% travel required to attend project meetings and to perform UL testing at laboratories
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical domain (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.), plus 3 years of experience in design and testing of medium voltage equipment and switchgear.
- IEEE / ANSI / UL testing requirements
- Knowledge of standards for MV Circuit Breaker test duties, Hi Pot, Partial Discharge, BIL, etc.
- Designing medium voltage switchgear equipmentGood verbal and written communication skills, which includes ability in writing technical documents.
- Self-starter, team player, multi-tasking with good time management skills and the ability to function across organizational boundaries.
