Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Softare Test Engineer to lead Verification/Validation for the overall SW platform and lead test execution within a development team. This role drives the quality and reliability of our Digital Power software platform but also assist in leading manual and automated test. The candidate will be responsible for driving test strategy, execution, acceptance, and communication across a large software platform within the Digital Power portfolio. The software platform is a key part of the system strategy visualizing critical information from the power devices including advanced electrical metering and protection. The candidate will be tasked to lead testing strategies, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. You will be driving test execution within a team of developers focused on a specific portion of platform development. There will also be responsibility for test automation.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for edge software applications.
- Execute manual and design automated tests to identify software defects and ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and design effective testing strategies.
- Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not compromised by new changes.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on software quality and testability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends to continuously improve testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on edge computing or related technologies.
- Experience in communications protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Test Complete, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Experience with performance testing and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
