We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Test Engineer to join our software development team. This position is responsible for supporting and enabling our Digital Power software platform. The role will focus on automation of verification & validation use cases involving edge software. This will include defining test cases per acceptance criteria then working to efficiently automate. The role will include some software setup, IT infrastructure setup and coding using test automation platforms. The candidate will be required to define validation requirements from the customer perspective as much as possible. The product portfolio includes Power Metering, Protection, Control, On-prem Software and Cloud.
What will she/he do?
- Interface directly with systems engineering teams to understand requirements
- Detail all the validation use cases as Acceptance criteria
- Setup systems equipment from reference test or solution architectures
- Develop demo customer scenarios for customer feedback & validation
- Coding with JavaScript, Python or C# for automating test cases
- Perform manual validation on customer use cases
- Interface with tech support teams understanding customer issues & replicating in a lab
- Interfacing with development teams to understand integration issues across the product portfolio
What qualifications will make her/him successful?
- 3-4 years of development experience using C# .NET, JavaScript & HTML5/CSS3 coding techniques
- Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Test Complete, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Experience with performance testing and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Good understanding software, hardware, and communications architectures
- Strong software/IT maintenance, and testing ability for resolutions of complex system issues
- Strong collaboration skills to effectively work w/customers & technical colleagues
- Basic understanding of OT & IT networking
- Basic understanding of communication protocols (Modbus,BACNet,OPC DA/UA, IEC61850, SNMP)
- Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
