A leading renewable energy and infrastructure company is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Project Planner to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong planning, scheduling, and project controls experience within large-scale construction, solar, EPC, or infrastructure environments.
The business delivers end-to-end renewable energy solutions across construction, supply chain, and operations and maintenance, with a strong footprint in utility-scale solar projects throughout South Africa.
Duties:
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules across multiple renewable energy projects
- Track project progress, critical paths, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinate planning activities between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams
- Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for management and stakeholders
- Identify scheduling risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Monitor resource allocation and project performance against baseline schedules
- Support project managers with forecasting, cash flow planning, and reporting
- Ensure alignment between site activities, procurement timelines, and contractor deliverables
- Assist with project controls, change management, and delay analysis
- Maintain planning documentation and project records in accordance with company standards
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in project planning within construction, EPC, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
- Understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and reporting systems
- Experience working on utility-scale solar, electrical, or infrastructure projects advantageous
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
