Introduction

Dust-A-Side is an international company which has channeled more than 40 years of experience in Total Dust Management. Our Total Dust Management services include dust and road management for opencast and underground mines, treating more than 10 000 000 square meters of mine haul roads.

The purpose of this position is to provide a strategic overview and management of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental hazards and advisory function to Heads of Departments and the Board of Directors.

Duties & Responsibilities

Extensive knowledge and interpretation of SHE Management Systems, procedures and policies including Incident Management, Document Control and Risk Management Principles,
Subject matter expert on Internal Compliance Audits and Corrective / Preventative Action Management,
Expert experience in Root Cause Analysis and ICAM methodology,
Experience in advising multiple sites on HSSE-related matters,
Knowledge and experience in implementing risk management principles,
Experience in Incident Investigation,
Occupational Health and Safety Act & Mining Health & Safety Act working knowledge essential,
ISO 9001; 14001, 45001 (OHSAS 18001),
Proficient in MS Office packages,
Ability to manage a departmental budget,
Excellent report-writing skills,
Excellent presentation skills with experience in board-level presentations,
Effective Business Communication Skills and Stakeholder Management with specific reference to EXCO-level communication and interaction,
Strong Interpersonal Skills,
Excellent Attention to detail,
Strict Compliance to confidentiality,
Willingness to travel to sites,
Red ticket with no restrictions and applicable Legal Appointment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Degree: Safety Management is essential,
NEBOSH International Diploma will be an added advantage,
COMSOC 1 & 2 / SAMTRAC for Mining,
Professionally registered as a Certified Safety Professional (minimum of Graduate Member at The South African Institute for Occupational Safety & Health or similar body),
Legal Liability for Executives,
Minimum of 8 years working experience in HSSE with specific reference to the Mining Industry,
Valid Driver's License and own transport.
