ResponsibilitiesAs a Trainee - Environment, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s environmental management initiatives and ensuring sustainable operational practices. Your responsibilities will include a broad spectrum of activities aimed at compliance, monitoring, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, elaborated as follows:
- Environmental Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring that all power generation operations comply with local, state, and national environmental laws and regulations. This involves maintaining accurate records of compliance reports and permits and assisting in preparing documentation for regulatory submissions and audits.
- Monitoring and Data Collection: Conduct routine environmental monitoring activities such as air quality, water quality, noise levels, and soil sampling at the plant and surrounding areas. Use specialized instruments and software for data acquisition and ensure data integrity.
- Impact Assessment Assistance: Support environmental impact assessments by collecting and analyzing environmental data to evaluate the effects of plant operations on the environment. Contribute to the preparation of detailed reports highlighting key findings and mitigation measures.
- Waste Management: Assist in the implementation of waste management protocols including segregation, treatment, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated during power plant operations. Help in tracking waste generation trends and recommending improvements to minimize environmental footprint.
- Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Initiatives: Collaborate with senior team members on projects aimed at reducing energy consumption, enhancing resource utilization, and promoting renewable energy adoption as part of Adani’s sustainability vision.
- Training and Awareness Programs: Participate in organizing and conducting environmental awareness sessions for plant employees, promoting a culture of environmental responsibility and safety.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist in developing and updating environmental emergency response plans. Participate in drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness for accidental environmental incidents.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support interactions with regulatory bodies, local communities, and internal stakeholders by preparing presentations, reports, and communications that clearly convey environmental performance and initiatives.
- Continuous Learning and Reporting: Keep abreast of evolving environmental regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices in power generation sustainability. Assist in periodic internal audits and prepare reports to track environmental performance metrics.
QualificationsEducation Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Certification Required
- Certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or equivalent – preferred
- Basic training or certification in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) – preferred
