Analytical Chemist – Battery Recycling

Job Responsibilities
Analytical Testing & Data Management
- Perform a wide range of analytical tests related to battery recycling and battery material production.
- Conduct sample analyses using advanced instruments such as XPS, XRD, ICP‑OES, and TGA.
- Collect, process, and interpret analytical data to support optimization of battery recovery and production processes.
- Prepare clear, accurate analytical reports and present findings when required.
- Support Quality Control (QC) activities.
- Ensure all laboratory work complies with relevant standards, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Develop new analytical methods and refine existing methodologies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and process understanding.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and provide technical insights on material quality and process parameters.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate analytical laboratory equipment to ensure reliable performance and minimize downtime.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 1–2 years of industrial experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with ICP‑OES, XRD, TGA (experience with XPS is a strong advantage).
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of battery technologies, battery materials, and recycling processes (preferred).
- Strong foundation in analytical chemistry principles, techniques, and data interpretation.
- Familiarity with material characterization methods.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and data analysis.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to comprehend complex scientific information and communicate findings clearly.
- Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and committed to maintaining high laboratory standards.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in cross‑functional environments.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
