About the Role
Avesta is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead and manage the purchasing operations for our Lithium Battery Energy Storage Solutions. This is a critical, strategic role where you will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies that ensure the efficient procurement of raw materials, components, and services required for production and operations.
You will work closely with internal teams, senior leadership, and external suppliers to build a reliable and cost-effective supply chain, aligning with Avesta’s growth and sustainability goals. Your leadership will be crucial in driving procurement efficiency and optimizing costs, while ensuring the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and execution of strategic purchasing plans that align with Avesta’s commercial and sustainability goals.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent, high-quality deliveries and compliance with contractual terms.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives by negotiating competitive pricing, optimizing supplier contracts, and identifying opportunities for long-term cost reduction.
- Manage the procurement of critical materials for battery production, ensuring timely and efficient supply without compromising quality.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, while ensuring that contractual agreements align with Avesta’s needs.
- Supervise, mentor, and support the purchasing team, setting clear objectives and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve purchasing goals.
- Monitor global market trends, price fluctuations, and supplier performance to ensure the most competitive pricing and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
Requirements
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within the energy storage, electrical systems, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record in negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Skills
- Strong understanding of strategic purchasing strategies, cost management, and supplier negotiation.
- Expertise in building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely deliveries.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Odoo) and other purchasing tools to streamline procurement processes.
- Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other languages is a plus, given the international nature of Avesta’s operations.
- Occasional travel to meet suppliers, attend industry events, and support operational needs.
