We are currently seeking a Battery Electrochemist & Researcher to help drive innovation and support the evolution of our cell technologies.
What you'll do at Avesta
- Develop electrochemical methods to understand the properties of lithium-ion and next-gen battery systems.
- Collaborate with our modeling team to accelerate the analysis and interpretation of electrochemical data.
- Diagnose root causes of battery cell failures and propose corrective actions to improve performance and extend cycle life.
- Fabricate and optimize battery cells at lab scale, and occasional operation of pilot-scale equipment for lithium-ion cell production (e.g., slurry mixing, electrode coating, stacking, electrolyte filling, cell sealing, formation, and cycling).
- Support the transfer of next-generation battery technologies from lab-scale to pilot-line team.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress.
Required Qualifications
- Master or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field
- Prior knowledge in the development of Li-ion batteries, including electrochemical testing, electrode preparation, and cell assembly.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and organizational skills
- Communication skills in an interdisciplinary and international work environment
