Job Description and Duties
Under general supervision of an Accounting Administrator I Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing complex accounting duties as it relates to the entire cashiering functions. Duties include a comprehensive understanding of the accounting processes for the Division of Accounting, effective communication with internal and external customers, analyze the appropriateness of accounting transactions, and monitor and analyze payroll activities.

Working Conditions
Position located at 1820 Alhambra Blvd Sacramento, Sacramento County.
While at their base of operation, employees will work in a climate‑controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate. Most employees will work in workstations with single cubicles. Working hours will be set sometime between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in‑person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining‑unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
Special Requirements

- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) Required.
The SOQ serves as documentation of each applicant’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Please follow the instructions below; failure to include and complete the SOQ as instructed may result in the SOQ not being considered and in disqualification from the interview. Each question must be numbered and addressed in the same order as the questions below. The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and 12‑point Arial font.

- 2. Describe a time when you successfully managed a high‑priority task without compromising existing deadlines or quality.
- 3. Describe your experience leading a team. What was your role, what challenges did you face, and what was the outcome?
