Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Deputy District Director of Maintenance, a Principal Transportation Engineer, the incumbent is responsible for implementing, evaluating, and sustaining major programs and maintenance policy in the Sunrise Region.
The incumbent will advise and consult with top-level district and statewide management, propose new programs, directions or legislation as appropriate. A valid driver’s license is required.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Maintenance Manager II exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Working Conditions
Position located at 11323 Sanders Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742, Sacramento County. Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment. While at the base of operation, the manager will work in a climate‑controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with region concerns, work outside in cold and heat extremes may be required.
