Job Title: Species-rich Grassland Project Officer
Responsible To: Head of Conservation (Scotland)
Location: Home working, based in the Scottish Borders or Dumfries and Galloway
Salary: £28,148 - £32,519 depending upon experience plus 8% employer pension contribution
Hours: Full time, 37 Hours Per Week (1 FTE)
Contract: Fixed term contract until 31st December 2030
We have an exciting new role for a highly organised and motivated individual to lead on the successful delivery of our Farmers, Landowners, Northern Brown Argus and Species-rich Grassland pilot Natural Capital project.
Butterfly Conservation, along with key partners and individuals including Scottish Borders Council and South of Scotland Enterprise, will be responsible for driving this pilot project.
The role itself will require working with farmers, contractors and volunteers to restore species-rich grassland to benefit Northern Brown Argus across the south of Scotland. This will include engaging with developing green finance initiatives to support sustainable land management for nature and people to enjoy for years to come.
You will need to be an excellent communicator with experience of working with landowners, volunteers and community groups. You will have recent experience of delivering similar projects within the Conservation sector including species and habitat management and a solid understanding of delivering these projects within a partnership.
