The Digital Planning Manager at ScottishPower is responsible for leading the development and execution of the UK digital planning strategy across all business areas. This role ensures the alignment and integration of digital initiatives across all business areas and CoEs, promotes efficiency and operational cost savings through the standardisation of IT solutions, and drives the digital transformation of business processes. You’ll collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance digital capabilities, improve data governance, and implement AI solutions.
Additionally, this role involves managing multidisciplinary teams using agile methodologies, integrating plans from multiple data sources, overseeing budget management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards. The goal is to support the company's growth and innovation objectives while enhancing the digital user experience and operational efficiency.
What you’ll be doing
As the Digital Planning Manager, you’ll be responsible for defining and implementing the UK digital planning strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's digital transformation goals. You’ll coordinate digital planning processes across the Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and Digital Areas, collaborating with Global Heads of Digital Planning & Digital Culture and Practices to share best practices and ensure alignment. This will ensure the prioritisation of digital activities based on value and efficiency, developing methodologies to evaluate and prioritise solutions that deliver the highest benefits and savings while complying with regulatory and security requirements.
Leading on the strategy for standardising IT solutions (at an international level), you’ll strive to achieve efficiency, synergies, and operational cost savings, while maintaining excellence in security and regulatory compliance.
You’ll support the design and implementation of Digital Business Plans, focusing on data governance and AI to drive digital transformation and innovation. This will involve liaising with Data & AI Governance Leads, and business and IT managers to coordinate Data and AI governance, ensuring strategic decision-making and alignment with the company's digital objectives.
A key part of the role will be to lead the strategic improvement of internal processes and methodologies for digitisation, innovation, quality, and project planning, ensuring the department's projects are well-managed and budgeted. Other aspects of the role include:
- Managing and leading multidisciplinary teams in a high-demand environment, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for digitalisation, improve data quality, and implement AI solutions that enhance business processes and user experience.
- Managing the Data and AI management budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with the company's financial goals.
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with digital transformation initiatives, ensuring the security and compliance of all implemented solutions.
What you’ll bring
- Significant experience in leading, analysing, planning and developing digital teams and solutions internationally.
- Experience in leading, coordinating and supervising multinational, multidisciplinary teams with a focus on Data Governance and AI.
- Experience in economic monitoring of projects and management of their resources.
