This is the role
- Lead LYB’s Sustainable Feedstock Procurement
- Renewable Feedstock sourcing
- Chemical/Advanced Recycled Feedstock (pyrolysis oil) sourcing
- Plastic waste suitable for Chemical/Advanced Recycling
- Help develop long- and medium-term strategies with business management to secure sustainable feedstock, at competitive costs
- Identifying long, medium and short-term market opportunities
- Negotiate and manage short and long term commercial arrangements for all sustainable feedstock supplies
- Define optimum structure (contract/spot) and manage the associated opportunities and risks
- Support cost reduction and revenue enhancement ideas and drive Capex investments for further growth, including potential strategic partnerships required to achieve LYB’s strategic ambitions.
- European expert within Lyondellbasell on Sustainable Feedstock markets and their trends.
- Represent LYB in industry associations (e.g. PlasticsEurope, CEFIC, etc…) when relevant topics are addressed/discussed
- Communicate and align closely within the Sustainability, Olefins and Polyolefins teams, as well as market trends to a wider audience
- Seek synergies with QCP/Procurement both from potential waste streams suitable for advanced recycling, as from market intelligence
- Work closely with Manufacturing organization to ensure optimal feeds at all times.
- Must be able to adjust strategies and tactics reflecting changing manufacturing and market condition.
- Lead ISCC+ relationship
- Be expert matter for everything related to ISCC (incl mass-balancing)
- Be contact point for/and to ISCC
- Owning the procedures and the handbook
- Together with Quality Management coordinate yearly audits with TÜV
- Conduct training to manufacturing and business
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Responsible for and owner of spot and long-term contracts for all Sustainable Feedstock supplies
- Responsible for managing relationship with ISCC+, as internal and external focal point.
- Monitor performance and effectiveness of activities against targets and take action as required.
- Expand the supply portfolio by adding new sources, waste/feedstock qualities and suppliers
- Responsible for understanding of the Local, European and Global plastic waste market fundamentals
- Responsible for effective communication to senior management. Understands the enterprise’s future Circular Plastic Waste Feedstock requirements including business scenarios which may lead to revisions, inventory requirements, impact on working capital, price trends and market shifts. Use this information to develop and execute long-term purchase and inventory strategies
- Develop and maintain strong supplier/ customer relationships and represent Lyondellbasell in appropriate industry environments.
- Drive profit generating projects for Capex investments and bring opportunities to Leadership team
- Work closely together with back-offices in Rotterdam as well as sites to drive for efficient and effective processes
- Executing medium- and short-term tactics in what is a new market for LYB
This is what you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering Required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Ten to fifteen years of experience required, with at least 5-10 years commercial experience. Preferably some sustainable products experience. Knowledge of plastic waste market beneficial.
- Trading and risk management experience.
- Excellent communication, on senior management as well as operational level, with Manufacturing as well as Business. Strong analytical skills.
- Must be able to make decisive market calls with significant P&L impact in complex, ambiguous feedstock spot and forward markets.
- Ability to quickly comprehend and act within a dynamic (energy market), with volatile futures market, and changing forward markets.
- Fluent in English
