Currently we have an opening for an Electrical Safety Manager, who will be having the ultimate responsibility for the safety of all electrical installations works which are managed by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Benelux.
These installations are a vital part of on- and offshore wind farms with voltages varying from 10kV-33kV in the Wind Park and going up to 110kV-220kV in sub stations that connect the park to the grid. The wind turbines themselves work with voltages between 240V and 690V.
In order to guarantee the safe use of the LV/HV installations, the works we perform on installations must comply with the statutory provisions described in NEN 50110 and NEN3140/3840
You ensure that the works performed on the electrical infrastructure of a Wind Park is performed in full compliancy with all legislations and the in- and external regulations. This includes setting up a "(electrical) safe system of work”.
You advise and support the sales and acquisition departments in setting up new contracts for the clauses related to electrical safety. A seamless transition from construction works to service period must be guaranteed (e.g. defining a Safe System of Work for the so-called bridging period).
What are the key responsibilities associated with the job?
Ensuring that work on installations can be carried out safely in accordance with the job responsibilities of the work responsible.
Ensuring the safe operation of LV/HV installations in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards.
Managing the safe work within LV/HV installations and guaranteeing safe working according legislation and SGRE procedures.
The development and approval of work and switching-plans.
Supervising the execution of works.
Proactive advice on possible opportunities and bottlenecks regarding the proper working of the installation with regards to safety aspects.
Responsibility for key management and the related designation policy and training policy for the installations concerned.
Responsibility for correct asset data (e.g. documents, drawings, EIPs, nominations.).
All electrical operations, more specifically the integral electrical installations and all electrically powered work equipment.
Maintaining the safety of these electrical installations and electrical work equipment.
Periodic inspections and timely and adequate repair of the observed defects.
Setting up an access regulation for areas of the electrical services and cabinets to the technical condition of the automated machinery.
Analyzing faults and making suggestions for improvement.
Ensuring a detailed planning with regards to inspections, maintenance and repair work.
Maintaining contacts with external parties (distribution and transmission grid owners, SGRE clients, etc.).
Making an inventory of the risks including formulating adequate advice with regards to working safely. The following risks must be investigated as a minimum: risk of electric shock as a result of direct or indirect contact discharges, arcs and potential spreads accumulation of energy (ex. capacitor), overvoltage’s and overcurrent’s o overheating, fire and explosion voltage drops and recurrence of voltage and other risks inherent to the electrical installations non-electrical risks due to a fault or malfunction of an electrical equipment component, such as control circuits.
Management of the existing installations and checking and approval of the designs for new wind turbines and installations, the reconstructions and renovations.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
You hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Experience of at least 5 years in installation maintenance of HV installations including low-voltage maintenance at the level of at least the HS + LS work manager.
Knowledge of and experience with high-power transformers, protection relays, power switches for both high voltage and low voltage, as used in high voltage distribution stations.
Knowledge of electrical installations, NEN-EN-IEC 61936-1, NEN-EN 50522, NEN 3140, NEN 3840, EN50110,
Knowledge of project management and process improvement.
Being able to rewrite our processes if the legislation changes. You have experience in writing technical documents.
It is paramount that you are proficient in English, both in reading and writing. You have good knowledge of the Dutch language.
You are living in Netherlands. Ability to travel (60%) to various locations within The Netherlands.
