Role SummaryLeading the on site investigation for electrical systems related concerns; partnering with manufacturing and software organizations on finding root cause for launch and production problems.
Rivian is seeking a world class leader to serve in the Staff Electrical Systems Launch Engineer role who will build and lead the issue resolution for repetitive concerns found in vehicles during production and launch environments.
Responsibilities- Support Vehicle Electrical Hardware/Software Issues at our Normal, Il Plant and maintain manufacturing output.
- Work cross functionally with other teams on root cause analysis.
- Work closely with offsite engineering for trials.
- Work with manufacturing partners and teams to increase quality through the complete product lifecycle.
- Work with EOL teams on increasing test efficiencies.
- Drive issues back to the owner for assessment and corrective action.
- Report on findings to upper management.
- Influence future design direction and technology improvements with Product Development.
- Work with techs on hands on repairs and investigations.
Collaborate With:
- Manufacturing teams to identify, understand, and resolve issues
- General Assembly, EOL and Operations to identify areas of concern and drive containment
- Engineering teams (Electrical/Software/Mechanical) to coordinate onsite activities, resolve, and root cause problems
- Failure Analysis Labs to gather information and review data and evidence
Qualifications- BS+ Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or Equivalent
- Ability to collaborate with line workers and other engineers
- Experience on major vehicle launches
- 5+ years of experience working in a product development or volume manufacturing environment
- Curiosity to dive deep into electrical, software, and mechanical issues
- Ability to use diagnostics tools (oscilloscope, DMM, CANalyzer, calipers) to aide in debug
- Demonstrated Strong Creative thinking and problem-solving toolbox.
- Strong knowledge on reading electrical schematics.
- Strong knowledge on wiring repairs.
