Role SummaryThe Security Specialist will promote a culture that improves employee satisfaction and retains a skilled and motivated workforce. The role is essential in supporting a proactive, consultative, and service-orientated culture for Security at Rivian. They are responsible for maintaining a safe, secure environment while handling physical security operations at the Manufacturing plant. The Security Specialist I has a bias for action, is trustworthy, and consistently demonstrates a high degree of work excellence.
Responsibilities- Respond to calls for service that require the ability to gather relative information and document findings.
- Efficiently communicate and coordinate emergency response for medical incidents, fires, and other priority incidents via radio.
- Function independently, under pressure, and perform multiple tasks and duties with minimal direction or oversight.
- Conduct routine security checks and inspections.
- Provide support for access control and authentication processes.
- Assume overall leadership of Security Operations in the absence or at the direction of Production Security Management.
- Practice a customer service mindset in driving a culture of security awareness across the business.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of Rivian’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain positive relationships with all levels of staff, including executive leadership and team members.
- Assist with on-site events by performing security and administrative tasks.
Qualifications- Integrity and professionalism
- 3+ years of security, law enforcement, or military experience
- A high degree of organization, prioritization and awareness with the ability to multitask efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (formal training in verbal de- escalation preferred)
- Competent in Microsoft office and security related access control software
- Able to interact with staff of all levels, in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Be 18 years or older with a valid Driver’s License, capable of standing/walking duration of shift
