Summary

This position is part of the Idaho Operations Office, Department of Energy. As a Waste Management Program Manager, you will provide professional engineering or physical science expertise and support to DOE programs, projects or initiatives whose mission or responsibilities include a combination of engineering and physical science work that supports the DOE mission to maintain U.S. preeminence in engineering and scientific technology research and applications.

Veterans shape the future of energy As a Waste Management Program Manager, you will: Provide leadership and program management for highly complex planning, engineering, and regulatory activities related to environmental cleanup. Formulate and implement scientific and engineering efforts to achieve new capabilities, evaluate technological trends, and brief on DOE policy and projects. Serve as a technical expert and advisor to multiple stakeholders with divergent opinions, assess new concepts, mitigate risks, and prepare technical briefs and policy papers. Develop and provide guidance for complex scientific and engineering systems. Direct research, development, and implementation of key segments of major DOE programs/projects, including budget, schedule, and technical problem resolution. Negotiate complex contractual terms and modify project plans/agreements in collaboration with procurement and legal offices for projects involving significant funding.
