Key Duties & Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Proactively identify and pursue new C&I solar opportunities through cold calling, referrals, networking, and lead generation.
- Target commercial and industrial clients such as factories, warehouses, shopping centres, farms, and office parks.
- Develop a strong sales pipeline and consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
Sales & Client Engagement
- Conduct site assessments and client consultations to understand energy usage, operational needs, and financial objectives.
- Present tailored solar PV, hybrid, battery storage, and energy optimisation solutions.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales proposals, quotations, and ROI analyses.
Solution Selling
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to design technically and financially viable solutions.
- Explain system performance, savings models, payback periods, and funding options (CAPEX, PPA, leasing).
- Address technical and commercial objections confidently.
Contracting & Closing
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with clients.
- Close sales and ensure smooth handover to project implementation teams.
- Ensure all documentation, contracts, and approvals are completed accurately.
Market & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with decision-makers (CFOs, Facility Managers, Operations Directors).
- Stay up to date with solar legislation, incentives, tariffs, and Eskom/municipal regulations.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends in the C&I solar space.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and sales processes.
