What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Partner with HR leadership and benefits brokers to design, implement, and manage competitive, compliant, and cost-effective benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness, etc.).
- Oversee day-to-day benefits and wellness administration, ensuring compliance with ACA, ERISA, IRS, DOL, COBRA, HIPAA, and related regulations, including nondiscrimination testing.
- Manage all leave of absence (LOA) programs (FMLA, parental, personal), ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate payroll coordination, and positive employee experience.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, resolving issues and providing guidance on benefit plan usage, enrollments, and corrections.
- Work directly with carriers and vendors to ensure enrollment accuracy and timely issue resolution.
- Ensure full compliance across all benefit plans, including plan documents, SPDs, SARs, participant notices, audits, and regulatory filings.
- Lead annual benefit compliance audits and support financial audits, information requests, and litigation as a subject matter expert.
- Maintain current knowledge of benefits regulations and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance and market competitiveness.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process, including project management, system testing, vendor coordination, communications, and timely submission of enrollment data.
- Manage benefits configuration, integrations, and workflows within HRIS, overseeing data migration, testing, invoicing accuracy, remittances, and reimbursements.
- Conduct routine and ad hoc benefits data analysis to support compliance, operational accuracy, and alignment with company financial objectives.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve benefits procedures to ensure consistent administration and operational efficiency.
- Conduct new hire benefits orientation and develop ongoing employee education resources, including maintaining benefits intranet content.
- Educate managers and HR partners on benefits programs, policies, and processes.
- Provide leadership on key benefits initiatives and coach junior team members, including the Total Rewards Analyst, to support team goals and capability growth.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance benefits operations and the overall employee experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This role may be remote to start but will transition to an in-office setting at the headquarters within 3-6 months of start date. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 8+ years of experience in benefits administration
- Thorough knowledge and depth of experience of employee benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
- Experience working with large, diverse workforces in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Ability to scale a benefits program as the business scales
- Automotive experience is a plus, not a must.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer centric and business partnering mindset.
- Detail-oriented with great organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, enthusiastic attitude, and growth mindset
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred.
- Experience transitioning to self-funded plans preferred.
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $120,000.00 - $145,000.00
