Job Description and Duties
Will consider Analyst I.
Under the general direction of the Branch Chief, a Supervisor I, in the Division of Safety and Management Services (DSMS), the incumbent serves as an analyst providing administrative, training and analytical support for the Workers' Compensation and Return-to-Work Program.
Specifically, the incumbent will handle a case load of Caltrans employees with workers' compensation claims by:
- Consulting with employees, supervisors, and managers regarding medical issues, reasonable accommodation, return to work, and other related concerns;
- Coordinating with various stakeholders regarding assigned cases;
- Reviewing and interpreting medical reports to determine the most appropriate course of action;
- Maintaining accurate and complete case documentation using electronic files housed in a shared network drive, spreadsheets, and database;
- Evaluating, authorizing, and/or recommending claim settlement solutions;
- Facilitating resolution of employment status for employees unable to return to work in their usual occupation.
The incumbent is expected to utilize good organization/time management techniques to appropriately prioritize and complete work in a timely and accurate manner, display a positive attitude, and cultivate a team environment to help accomplish the Division's Missions and Goals.
