Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Administrative Manager, a Staff Services Manager II, the Maintenance Manager I (MM I) directs and oversees the performance of various program support activities and monitors and evaluates outcomes to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as established by the Maintenance Program. The MM I will work closely with Region administrative, Region field, District and Headquarters staff while in the course of performing their duties. The incumbent is responsible for supervising Maintenance Superintendents, Supervisors, and support staff. This position supports the District's emergency response efforts and is subject to occasional call-outs and nonstandard work shifts. A Class C driver's license is required. This position is not represented under collective bargaining.

Working Conditions
Position located at 4050 Taylor Street San Diego 92110, San Diego County.

While at the base of operation, the MM I works in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting. The incumbent is required to drive, travel and work outdoors occasionally, and shall be exposed to dirt, traffic, noise, uneven surfaces, extreme heat or cold, and varying inclement weather conditions. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring proper safety precautions are maintained and followed by staff. Occasionally work may need to be performed during nights and weekends.

- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.

- Provide examples of your experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite software, Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS), datalink, Geographic Information System (GIS), Google Maps and other web-based software to produce spreadsheets, reports, and exhibits.
- Describe your experience developing, analyzing, and recommending innovative strategies and practices to achieve effective results and high service scores.
- Describe your experience planning, directing and leading teams; evaluating employee work performance; monitoring employee training and development; and motivating, empowering and recognizing employee performance.
