Job Description:
Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking an Environmental Manager reporting to the Environmental Director in Midland, Texas. This position is responsible for managing environmental compliance and sustainability programs across PR’s operated assets in the Delaware and Midland Basins. The successful candidate will ensure operations meet or exceed all applicable regulations while driving continuous improvement in emissions, water stewardship, waste handling, and spill prevention.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Manage permits, reports, and notifications (air permits, SPCC/SWPPP plans, waste/water reports, GHG inventory, ESG disclosures). Maintain compliance database and integrate requirements into field operations.
- Lead air compliance and emissions reduction programs (LDAR, flare optimization, pneumatic conversions). Oversee emissions data systems and partner with engineering to implement reduction technologies.
- Manage waste handling, disposal, and produced water reuse/recycling strategies. Support vendor management and waste minimization initiatives.
- Maintain SPCC plans, conduct inspections, and coordinate containment upgrades. Lead spill response, remediation, and reporting; analyze trends for proactive mitigation.
- Provide environmental expertise to field teams; conduct audits, inspections, and training. Support construction, drilling, completions, and production operations.
- Act as primary contact for regulators; manage inspections, audits, and enforcement actions. Build strong agency relationships and advocate for practical solutions.
- Lead and mentor environmental staff; promote accountability and proactive compliance. Collaborate with operations and engineering to integrate environmental performance.
- Oversee ESG data collection and reporting. Track GHG reduction, water intensity, and spill metrics. Utilize technology to automate compliance workflows.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of environmental management experience in upstream oil & gas (Permian experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of EPA Subparts W, OOOO/OOOOa/OOOOo, and state regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience with air permitting, LDAR, waste and water compliance programs.
- Leadership and communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in compliance databases and ESG reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with digital compliance tools (Spotfire, ProntoForms, LDAR software).
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability metrics.
- Prior experience managing environmental teams across multi-state operations.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills for waste and water programs.
