Barilla International is looking for a Global Sustainability Associate Director, based in Amsterdam.
Job Purpose
The Global Sustainability Associate Director oversees the strategic development of the company's Sustainability projects portfolio with specific focus on collaboration with Marketing, Supply Chain and RD&Q. This role involves coordinating with internal Barilla teams to identify and prioritize ESG projects in the pipeline, ensuring alignment of selected initiatives with the company's sustainability goals and commitments. The person acts as a key liaison with Regions to amplify and accelerate ESG initiatives locally and works closely with Communication department to engage internally and externally around sustainability journey. Additionally, the person conducts ecosystem intelligence keeping the company competitive and supports other departments on ‘Green Claim’ compliance.
Key Accountabilities
-Engage with internal stakeholders to identify and develop a robust pipeline of ESG driven projects, mainly focused on Supply Chain and R&D driven material topics.
- Oversee the portfolio of ESG initiatives, tracking progress and ensuring strategic alignment. Provide guidance and support to Marketing, Supply Chain and R&D ESG Project Leaders to ensure successful implementation of the initiatives.
- Ensure consistency and alignment across the ESG portfolio, crafting a coherent awareness and narrative, to be communicated externally and cascaded internally with Regions.
- Support in the data collection and storyline development of the Sustainability Reporting
- Review specific ESG KPIs identified and regularly assess the performance of ESG initiatives against established baselines, commitments, targets, and key milestones.
- Conduct ecosystem and competitive intelligence research to stay ahead of sustainability trends, opportunities, and best practices, with particular focus on ‘Green Claims’.
Requirements
- Self-starting team-player with strong engagement and influencing skills
- Project Management: proven track record of seamlessly working across complex organizations and functions, coordinating and monitoring different initiatives and ability to synthesize input from several stakeholders.
- Leads collaboratively and with success in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of full business value chain.
- Preferred experienced in sustainability, dacarbonization best practices, circular economy, sustainability regulations.
