ING Wholesale Banking (“WB”) is looking to hire an analyst based in Amsterdam. The analyst will be part of ING’s Capital Markets and Advisory (“CMA”) Early Career Group (“ECG”) with home base Sustainable Capital Markets
The Sustainable Capital Markets Team, within Debt Capital Markets (GCM) Capital Solutions group, is responsible for the structuring of capital markets funding instruments with green, social, sustainable or sustainability-linked labels, integrated sustainability advisory of clients including ESG rating advisory, sustainability reporting advisory, and expanding socially responsible investor (SRI) knowledge and distribution capabilities.
CMA Early Career Group program
ING’s Early Career Group (“ECG”) is a best-in-class program providing junior talent the opportunity to develop themselves to well-rounded investment bankers, by covering the core and client facing areas across ING’s Capital Markets and Advisory (“CMA”). The aim of this program is to upskill talent and prepare you for future roles in our organization. In addition to a dedicated ECG curriculum together with other ECG talents of your ‘year group’, you will receive high quality on-the-job and classroom trainings for both hard- and soft-skills which will ensure you are well-equipped to become a future, rounded investment banker.
During the program, analysts will get hands-on experience of what is involved in the day-to-day role as a junior team member across different CMA departments in Amsterdam, such as Corporate Finance, Global Capital Markets, Loan Distributions Group, Corporate Investments and Acquisition Finance. The program comprises [two] rotations of six month each along the three different areas: Advisory, Capital Markets and Structuring to broaden your horizons and sharpen your skills. In each rotation, you will operate as part of a team responsible for the origination, structuring, execution, and distribution of CMA transactions.
After completing the program, you will stay in your home base and put your skills to work across the highly dynamic CMA teams with like-minded people and support ING’s teams across the entire wholesale banking value chain.
Your Home Base “Sustainable Capital Markets”
In your new role, you will be an integral part of the ECG and its concept from day one. Your home base department will be the Sustainable Capital Markets team in Amsterdam for at least 12 months at the start. Sustainable Capital Markets is mainly based in Amsterdam, but our team has a truly global reach operating as an overlay for ING’s GCM franchise.
Primary focus would be on EMEA clients, however the team has ultimate responsibility for sustainable capital markets transactions in the Americas and Asian markets.
As part of the team you will direct support to senior colleagues with the aim to assist on the structuring and maintenance of the sustainable frameworks for clients, new sustainable structuring mandates, support DCM deal execution, take an active role in ESG pitch preparation, coordinate and prepare updates with DCM Syndicate and prepare tailor-made structuring advice. You will also support or ESG advisory proposition with regards to ESG reporting and strategy, ESG ratings as well as climate transition (investment) plan analysis and investor communication.
Based in Amsterdam, you will closely collaborate with colleagues in GCM, Sustainable Finance as well as FI coverage bankers.

Furthermore, you have:
- Academic degree
- Knowledge on ESG/Sustainability (in the financial industry, consultancy or other sectors)
- Basic knowledge of macro-economics, capital markets, or financial accounting is an advantage
- Some basic knowledge of fixed income products
- Fluent in English
- Excellent (English) writing skills
- Speaking other languages including German or French is a virtue
- Advanced Power Point and Excel skills is a virtue
- Capable to read sustainability reports sustainability reports (regulatory non-financial information), annual reports and legal documentation
