JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, in the Visitor Resource Protection Division. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Park Ranger (Protection), you will perform the following duties: Develops, revises, and implements law enforcement planning documents and polices. Manages the application process and authorizations for Special Use Permits and Commercial Use Service. Distributes law enforcement funding. Plans, directs, coordinates, and executes the park law enforcement program. Ensures visitor protection activities and incidents are document properly and in a timely manner. Serves as principal liaison with State, Locals, Tribal and other law enforcement agency officials, as well as a liaison in cooperation with the park law enforcement specialist with local magistrates' judges, and the U.S. Attorney's Office. Coordinates and conducts internal and criminal investigations, including those pertaining to natural resource poaching and drug enforcement.
