Location: Stateside, Adelphi, Maryland, Hybrid, 2-3 days a week onsite
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks an innovative business professional with extensive sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship experience to participate in our Executive in Residence program within the School of Business. Members of the Executive in Residence program support the University’s mission of transforming the lives of students by bringing industry insights and upskilling strategies to our faculty, staff, and workforce-relevant programs. We seek an Executive in Residence who is highly respected in the industry and enthusiastic about addressing workforce needs, shaping the future of learning and credentialing in the profession, and contributing to continuous improvement and innovative ideas for our portfolio of credit and non-credit learning experiences.

Residency in the MD/DC/Northern Virginia metro area is required. You will be required to report regularly to the office to engage in face-to-face collaborations. You will also be expected to build relationships and partnerships with our faculty and staff to enable collaborative work on short-term projects.
Additional accountabilities include:
- Reviewing credentials, courses, and programs for industry alignment in Sustainable Futures, defined in the School of Business as encompassing sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Making recommendations for continuous improvement and innovative change strategies to deliver best-in-class learning experiences
- Training faculty and staff in new knowledge and skills, as needed to support change recommendations.
- Serving as a guest speaker and arranging for speakers, through industry contacts, for webinars, workshops, and other upskilling activities
- Connecting faculty and staff to industry resources to facilitate leveraging industry insights for the benefit of learners
- Identifying new technologies, practices, and approaches within the relevant field to enhance the quality of the learning experience portfolio
- Serving as a subject matter expert resource for faculty and staff
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the Dean
Required education & experience:
- Demonstrated ability to get things done
- An earned master’s in Business Administration, Management, Leadership, Operations, Sustainability, Innovation, or Entrepreneurship from an accredited institution of higher learning
- At least fifteen (15) years of increasing responsibility and acknowledged success in planning and executing sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship strategies in business contexts
- Highly motivated to contribute knowledge and skills to further industry and postsecondary education alignment
- Able to build and maintain productive working relationships
- Must have excellent presentation, oral, listening, and written communication skills
Preferred education & experience:
- Skilled in product/service innovation and development
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with nontraditional/adult learners from an employer or student perspective
- A particular ease and finesse that results from professional maturity and emotional intelligence
- Deep commitment to applying diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to all people, partnerships, and processes

Benefits Package Highlights:
Generous Time Off: Enjoy 22 days of paid vacation, 15 days of sick leave, 3 personal days, and 15 paid holidays (16 during general election years). Time off rates will be prorated based on the number of hours worked.
Comprehensive Health Coverage: Access to health care, medical with vision, dental, and prescription plans for both individuals and families, effective from the 1st of the month following your hire date. Contingent II employees who work on average 30 or more hours per week (130 hours per month) are eligible for subsidized state of Maryland medical and prescription benefits. Contingent II employees who work on average less than 30 hours per week but at least 20 hours per week are eligible for a stipend to assist in the purchase of a health plan.
Insurance Options: Term Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, and Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance. NOTE: C2 Part-time employees working less than 0.5 FTE are not eligible for LTD.
Retirement Stipend: Contingent II employees receive a retirement stipend equal to 7.25 percent of their base salary and are eligible to contribute to a supplemental retirement account (SRA).
Supplemental Retirement Plans: include 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), and various Roth options. The university does not provide subsidies or matching funds.
Tuition Remission: CII employees are eligible immediately for Tuition Remission at UMGC or at University of Maryland College Park. Spouses and dependent children are eligible for undergraduate tuition remission after two years of service. NOTE: For part-time employees (at least 50 percent of the time), tuition remission benefits are prorated.

$128,000.00 - $150,000.00
