Job Summary
PSEG is looking for Summer 2025 Interns for Renewables & Energy Solutions (RES), an organization that identifies, plans, and implements a portfolio of programs that support New Jersey’s Clean Energy Vision. This portfolio includes Energy Efficiency, Electric Vehicles, and Solar.
This job involves supporting the Solar 4 All® (S4A) team, utilizing a broad knowledge of business, analytical or engineering skills acquired through previous coursework or on-the-job training. The S4A Fleet is a unique and complex collection of thirty-one (31) solar-generating assets, and five (5) solar + storage systems of varying size and installation method. S4A fleet includes the world's largest pole attached solar facility of ~171,000 solar units mounted to utility poles throughout the PSE&G electric service territory. S4A hires a summer intern each year to assist in the development of new analytical reports to better understand and effectively operate solar and storage facilities.
This position will be Hybrid from PSE&G Newark Office with a minimum of two days a week in the office.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
•Analyzing pole-attached solar inspection data results, and wireless communication efficiency
•Analyzing generation lost because of equipment failure vs. irradiance
•Supporting research into solar and energy storage operations and grid edge advancements
•Shadowing field operations, maintenance activities, and construction work
•Participating in weekly operational status calls
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, data analytics, solar, energy storage, energy policy and finances or similar majors and graduating between December 2025 and May 2028. Students graduating in May/June 2025 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2025. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed sophomore-level course work for consideration. Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
