TEAM AND ROLE
As part of our ambitious team in Mexico City, you will help drive the future of renewable energy in the Southern Cone region, with a primary focus in Chilean markets. In this dynamic role, you'll lead the origination of Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) deals, collaborate with renewable project developers, and structure innovative agreements like PPAs and VPPAs. You'll craft creative deal strategies that align with market trends, regulatory changes, and client needs, all while staying ahead of the curve in LATAM's evolving energy landscape. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the origination of Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) purchase and sale opportunities in the Southern Cone region, with a primary focus in Chile
- Build and maintain relationships with developers and upstream market participants in the renewable energy sector
- Structure complex agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Virtual PPAs (VPPAs), and financial agreements
- Develop innovative deal structures that align with book strategy, adhere to market standards, and serve client interests
- Monitor LATAM power markets, including regulatory changes, energy transitions, and market dynamics, to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge
Key Requirements
- 4–6 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in a commercial role within energy trading or an energy infrastructure investment fund
- Established commercial relationships in Chilean power markets, with a "plug-and-play" capability preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus
- Proven expertise in developing and structuring renewable energy projects, with a strong track record in PPAs and VPPAs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Financial Modeling
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary based on a number of objective factors such as relevant experience, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications. The candidate may also be eligible for discretionary compensation as determined annually within the company fiscal year.
