JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Hanford Field Office, Department of Energy. As a Tribal Affairs Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing tribal nation issues and policy support in implementing the Department of Energy, American Indian and Alaska Native Tribal government policy. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Tribal Affairs Program Manager, you will: Responsible for providing effective management direction and control over the Tribal Affairs program. Serve as the principal advisor in all interactions with tribal governments. Ensure that all program interactions and communications with tribal nations are effective, timely and reflective of the agency Native American Policy. Keep abreast of all actions, studies, and projects that may affect the effective consultation between Department of Energy and tribal nations. Prepare senior leadership for all tribal engagements, including developing informational materials; identifying potential challenges and recommending resolutions; preparing presentations, talking points and question and answer documents; and coordinating dry-run meetings ahead of all executive level engagements to ensure that all Department of Energy program interactions and communications with tribal nations are effective.
