Power production & backup is one of the eight functional development teams, within the Turbine Control Software Module. It controls all critical systems related to power production inside the turbine, by implementing and testing the software based on requirements, with the purpose of preventing turbine structural damage and turbine downtime, all carried out in close collaboration with mechanical stakeholders. The team consists of highly skilled, highly experienced, international engineers across Portugal, Denmark and India, who are taking responsibility for all aspects of the Software deliverables.
Responsibilities
- You will report to the VP of Turbine SW and will be responsible for both people leadership and the technical domain, having full life-cycle ownership of your function
- Lead and support the software development team to deliver high-quality software solutions for your functional area
- Run the Sub-Module department and be line manager for the team members
- Responsible for the involvement of all stakeholders for the Sub-Module across the entire Value Chain, as well as delivering the needed solutions and documentation within the scope of the Sub-Module
- Responsible for delivering the module roadmap work-packages assigned to Sub Module
- Full life-cycle ownership of the functional area from a Software perspective, including quality, overview of support, service feedback, fleet performance and technical debt
- Have a good understanding of the technical domain under your responsibility together with the architecture and context of the submodule
- Have, and drive, a clear submodule roadmap, constraints and boundaries to optimize work and maximize reusability across wind turbine platforms
- Support a culture of continuous learning and development within the team
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
Qualifications
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree within Software engineering or relevant education
- More than 5 years professional experience in an embedded Software Team Leadership role
- Demonstrated growth in people leadership within a Software domain and proven experience in software development in languages such as C++
- Understanding and experience in Agile software development framework and demonstrated experience in applying Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Good communication skills in English
- Global mindset and good cultural understanding
