The Role:
Next Environmental is currently seeking a Contaminated Sites Project Manager to join our team. This role is 100% flexible between office and working from home, with our teams located in Burnaby, Victoria, Kelowna, and Prince George. Don't worry about working alone, because you will have a network of team members to help you along the way who have extensive experience in the field! Your main job responsibilities are:
- Independently manage and lead a variety of Environmental Investigation projects, such as Phase I and II (or Stage 1 and 2) assessments, Detailed Site Investigation, remediation, sampling programs, and supplemental investigations;
- Prepare the scoping, budgets, and execution of environmental investigations, environmental management programs and plans including research, guidance on field programs, and technical report writing and review;
- Provide mentorship and support for our Site investigation team members;
- Engage with clients, subcontractors and third-party stakeholders, providing clear communications on complex issues to move projects forward;
- Work alongside our internal business unit to create innovative solutions to support achieving our client’s business objectives;
- Maintain systems for recording and tracking all project documentation using project management software to ensure organized and accessible records;
- Monitor and review project budgets and expenses to ensure optimal project performance; and
- Ensure staff meet, maintain, or exceed health and safety requirements, and foster an environment that prioritizes safety in the workplace.
The Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a science field related to the environment, including Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Biology, etc.
- A Professional designation, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months as a P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Chem, P.Ag or R.P.Bio. is required.
- A minimum of five years of experience in Contaminated Sites, including at least two years in a project coordination or management role.
- Working knowledge of the BC Environmental Management Act and Contaminated Sites Regulations, as well as the supporting protocols and technical guidance documents.

The salary range for this role is between $90,000 to $120,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
