The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Egypt, working through the Learning Activity contractor Q2 Impact, is seeking to hire a Coordinator to support in coordinating the activities of Research task that will include desk Review of secondary data and primary research work collecting, analyzing and reporting on primary data of tourism in Egypt.

Project Background
The purpose of the Learning Activity is to provide monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) support services and build the capacity of USAID/Egypt and implementing partner (IP) staff. The objectives of these technical services and capacity building include improved use of Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA), support in implementing MEL aspects of USAID/Egypt�s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) and enhanced organizational effectiveness.
The Learning Activity is recruiting Sustainable Tourism & Development Coordinator to support in coordinating the activities of Research task that will include desk Review of secondary data and primary research work collecting, analyzing and reporting on primary data of tourism in Egypt.
This is a consultancy role that will involve an estimated 40 level of effort days from December 2024 to April 2025. Work is expected to be done in-person and remotely.
Deliverables of the tourism Research Task
- Desk Review report of the tourism industry in Egypt with a focus on the potential for investing in experiential and sustainable tourism and improving the enabling environment for private sector engagement
- Facilitating the roundtable discussions and key informant interviews (KIIs) with key stakeholders including private sector, academia, NGOs, Associations, government entities, local communities, other donors, among others to highlight tourism challenges, priorities, and potential opportunities to make the tourism sector a more competitive sector
- Support the Senior Expert in the preparation of the presentation of desk review findings to USAID design team Provide regular note-taking support to during consultations and interviews
- Development of stakeholder consultation interview tools and support the team in preparation of roundtable discussions and meetings or events required to achieve the objective of this assignment
- Final report of desk review and stakeholder consultations, with a substantial writing contribution
- Support the Senior Expert in the illustrative Concept Note for tourism design, including Scope and Objectives

Responsibilities:
- Support the team with organizing Appointments with the stakeholders.
- Schedule meetings as needed with stakeholders and as instructed by the technical team and schedule these meetings in coordination with team members and participants
- Provide a tracker with Appointments dates, hours, links and contact details.
- Coordinate, implement, and document communications among The Learning Activity Sustainable Tourism & Development team members.
- Assist in planning and coordinating field data collection tasks and meetings with stakeholders as required by the team lead and the learning activity task manager.
- Participate, as needed, in data analysis and produce tables and charts for reporting as needed by The Learning Activity.
- Attend in-person and/or virtual meetings for data collection or other purposes and take detailed notes and digitize those (e.g., KIIS, in depth Interviews, group discussion).
- Compare notes with attendees from the task team and produce final decent document of meetings to be used in data analysis by the team.
- Make travel arrangements for the team within Egypt
- Travel as needed in support of Sustainable Tourism & Development tasks and team.
- Keep electronic repository of all Sustainable Tourism & Development team data, reports, contact, lists, and other salient Sustainable Tourism & Development documentation
- Coordinate with The Learning Activity manager any logistics, needs and/or procurements required for The Learning Activity Sustainable Tourism & Development task and team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in international development projects design and work with private sector organizations. Experience with USAID is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Arabic, both spoken and written, required.
