We are looking for a dynamic Sales Manager to lead and grow our client base, with a focus on promoting our suite of energy solutions.
Overview
As a Sales Manager, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and leading the sales cycle from prospecting through to contract negotiation. You will work closely with product teams to tailor solutions for clients’ specific needs within the energy sector, leveraging both on-premises and cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate either brings a deep understanding of the energy industry or has significant expertise in sales and revenue, or ideally both.
Responsibilities
- Lead Sales Efforts: Drive and manage the sales process to acquire new clients and upsell existing ones, focusing on both on-premises and cloud-based software solutions.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within the energy sector, understanding their needs and ensuring high satisfaction levels.
- Market Analysis: Identify trends within the energy industry and anticipate customer needs, using insights to tailor sales strategies and product positioning.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, and customer success teams to align on product improvements, messaging, and client feedback.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Develop and track sales forecasts, and report progress to senior management, focusing on target achievement and strategic opportunities.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead contract discussions and close deals that align with company objectives, ensuring long-term value for both the client and the company.
- Team Management: Leading a Team of sales professionals, providing mentorship and development opportunities and overseeing performance.
- And other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in sales management, with a strong preference for experience in software sales within the energy industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of both on-premises and cloud-based software applications and their application in the energy sector.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
