Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a Junior Project Manager to support the Project Management team to ensure that projects and programmes initiated by the ORE Catapult are managed and delivered within the constraints of the agreed timescales, budget and finance structure and provide leadership within the team.
This role is based in Glagsow.
What will I do?
- Lead delivery on small projects, and support Project Managers to deliver programmes, ensuring that cost, schedule, and deliverables are in full compliance with the project charter agreed.
- Proactive management of projects to ensure appropriate strategies are employed to deliver optimum value to ORE Catapult from projects.
- Ensure the delivery is in accordance with ORE Catapult policies and procedures.
- Drive and coordinate the activities of multi- disciplinary project teams.
- Work under limited supervision and has defined areas of responsibility.
- Support team to scope, plan and deliver proposals and projects.
- Manage small projects and supports team to successfully deliver projects safely and to schedule, quality and cost.
- Responsible for monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets for own projects.
- Follow Project Management procedures, using project resourcing software and other project delivery tools.
- Responsible for meeting agreed deadlines.
- Responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own work.
- Drafts or contributes to project reports and other reporting documentation.
- Prioritises and manages own workload and timesheets.
- Communicate effectively, providing regular and ad-hoc reports to Project Management team.
- Represents the team at internal meetings.
- Organise and analyse project information effectively and accurately.
- Maintain a high standard of health & safety awareness through encouraging safe behaviours within project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects and programmes are closed out effectively and promote learning from successes and problems within projects across the organisation.
- May in addition be responsible for one or more of the following
- Delivering defined parts of larger projects
- Organising events, activities related to projects
What are we looking for?
- A degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and develop others.
- Recognises diverse and constructive contributions
- Strong Influencing, negotiating, and communication skills.
- Comfortable with decision making.
- Demonstrates creativity as well as tenacity and determination to succeed in overcoming obstacles.
- Industry experience within a technical sector such as energy, utilities or construction or equivalent work experience that demonstrates project management capability.
- A degree or equivalent work experience in a role requiring organisational, project management and/or resource planning skills.
- Sound planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and see / anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
- Enthusiastic to learn and seeks knowledge from others, listens attentively.
- Strong relationship management and communication skills and confidence working with colleagues and project partners.
- Takes the initiative in identifying opportunities during project delivery.

- Salary up to £36,000 depending on experience.
