To cope with our development, we are currently seeking for a highly dynamic and experienced professional with a proven track record in sustainability to assume the position of General Manager - Vendor Compliance and Sustainability. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers, primarily in the hardgoods industry, with a keen focus on ensuring that social and environmental standards are met and that sustainability initiatives are well promoted.
The ideal candidate will thrive in an ambiguous, fast-moving environments and possessing the ability to work across multiple functions and organizational levels. Exceptional communication and collaborative skills, strong project management experience, and excellent attention to detail are all essential for this role. As a competent and experienced professional, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading, developing, and executing the Social and Sustainability strategies of the company and its customers, which will be critical in advancing business, customers, and reputation goals.
The ideal candidate should also have a wealth of experience leading a CSR and Sustainability team in an international organization
Here is what you need to know about this role:
Strategic Customer Engagement
Serving as the primary point of contact for customers on social compliance and sustainability issues related to the hardgoods supply chain.
Develop, lead and manage supply chain-specific social compliance and sustainability programs tailored to customer needs.
Monitoring and reporting on social and environmental performance metrics, ensuring compliance are met with with customers’ requirements.
Strategy and Leadership
Develop and implement a strategic plan that outlines key milestones to support customers to operationalize social and environmental programs for prioritized material topics.
Analyze trends in social and environmental topics, identify best practices, and recommend improvements to existing programs and initiatives.
Create transparency and accountability by providing transparent and clear, proactive communication on supply chain social and environmental performance.
Regulatory Compliance
Proactively understand emerging EU ESG regulations such as CSDDD, CSRD, EUDR, DPP etc., and how they impact customer’s business and operation models.
Ensuring compliance with ESG regulations and standards by assessing and managing social compliance and sustainability risks and opportunities throughout the supply chain.
Develop and drive programs to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement in supply chain labor, health & safety and environmental performance.
Business Integration
Develop compliance and sustainability capabilities within the organization.
Ensure the implementation of policies, strategies and programs on a global basis.
Foster a sustainability-aware culture within the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work collaboratively and effectively with various stakeholders including customers, sourcing, merchandising, quality and legal etc. and external stakeholders and industry groups in the development and execution of ESG initiatives.
Engage with external industry partners and stakeholders to stay informed about industry trends, regulations and emerging technologies related to sustainability, and provide insights and strategic guidance to the customer and other stakeholders.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and suppliers and identifying opportunities to expand compliance and sustainability support.
Team Management
Lead a dedicated team of social compliance and sustainability professionals on their day-to-day support of business teams as well as execution of improvement plans.
Proven track record of successfully managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education
Bachelor’s degree (BA) Social and Environmental Sustainability, Business Management, Communications, Public Administration, Government. Master’s degree is desirable.
Experience
At least 15+ years professional business experience of corporate social responsibility, human rights or ethical trade including eight years of experience at managerial level gained from international organizations with matrix structures. As execution of the strategy may change, the role will need to maintain flexibility.
Well-versed in social compliance and sustainability principles and knowledge with solid exposures in driving and carrying out best practices in country labor, environmental and Health & Safety laws, and ILO Conventions.
Strong experience in engaging suppliers in China.
Solid understanding of social compliance standards such as RBA, BSCI, SA8000, ICTI and/or environmental compliance standards such as BEPI, ISO 14001, Detox, Higg Index. Amfori BSCI and BEPI preferred.

Fluent in both English and mandarin, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, internal teams and suppliers.
Problem-solving skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Able to synthesize data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Ability to lead problem solving efforts that best address customer needs, while aligning with the company policies and strategic objectives.
