HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute, a strategic collaboration between The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), aspires to establish as a world-class hub for Environmental, Social, and Governance best practices for Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or other related disciplines, with a minimum of 5 years’ solid programming and system development experience, preferably with the knowledge of managing and consolidating research data for visualization as well as IT Project Management. Familiarity with web technologies including PHP, HTML5, CSS and JQuery would be an advantage. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, friendly interpersonal skills, self-motivation, a strong sense of responsibility, and a good team member, and the ability to multi-tasking and delivering satisfactory results within tight timeframe.
The appointee will play an important role in research data visualization and managing IT projects, as well as the development and maintenance of websites and web applications at the Institute, in particular an online learning hub. He/She will work independently and effectively to gather requirements, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and provide training. Additionally, he/she will coordinate and collaborate with external vendors for application development, ensuring the definition of functional specifications and the quality of deliverables. The appointee will also be responsible for performing other assigned duties.
