Do you have a strong interest in sustainable food consumption and production, and more specifically the combined nutritional and environmental impacts of food? Do you have proven experience in combining the two fields of sustainability and nutritional science? If so, you might be the person we are looking for.
Today we are two units, in total 38 people, working with Sustainable Consumption and Production. The area of Sustainable Nutrition focuses on nutritional/health and environmental impacts of food products and diets and is one of the focus areas of Sustainable Consumption and Production. You will be working alongside colleagues with expertise in nutrition and sustainability assessments of food consumption and production using Life cycle assessment (LCA) and applying a holistic perspective to identify opportunities for a sustainable transformation of the food system.
About the role
As project leader in Sustainable Nutrition, your role will be focused on leading projects as well as generating new projects with your technical expertise as an important basis. We perform contract-based work for organisations in the food sector, and we also conduct research and innovation projects to develop new knowledge, methods and products. As a research institute we have an important role in applying knowledge and to enable its implementation, which we do through collaborations in the projects we participate in. We collaborate with all types of organisations from companies to public sector, authorities to universities. As project leader you will:
- - Lead and execute project activities focusing on nutritional aspects of food
- - Support and coach companies and partners, using methods for the combined analysis of food products impact on nutrition, health and the environment
- - Take an active role in offering our services and expertise to clients and project partners
- - Continuously develop the area and our offer together with colleagues in the group
- - Contribute to projects where colleagues are project lead, including research projects, using your knowledge and expertise
- - Be a RISE representative for the area internally and externally
The position is a full-time employment at RISE with location in Gothenburg.
Who are you?
You have a university degree, or PhD, in nutrition and several years of working experience with analytical work of food products and diets from a nutritional and sustainability perspective. You are a structured, analytical person with an inherent capability of planning your work and living up to deliverables and up to date with various methods that are used and applied currently. You take a positive stance and tend to look for solutions to difficulties and enjoy working as a team player. Naturally, we assume that you take an interest in issues related to food and sustainability and that this is reflected in your previous engagements. You have a drive to support our customers in developing new knowledge and new food products. You have:
- competence and experience in data management and statistics and to be proficient in methods for nutritional and dietary assessments.
- experience working with LCA and the environmental impact of food, especially experience on nutritional indicators for assessing the nutritional quality of food products and diets.
- experience of working in a client focused environment and have the capacity to build on external relations and contacts to create collaboration and new projects.
- a personal network in the area and have good communication skills.
- Experience of research projects or applications.
We believe you want to work in an interdisciplinary context, and you consider societal actors such as companies, authorities and non-governmental organizations to have an important role, together with researchers, in the transition to a sustainable society. You have a good proficiency in spoken and written English. Spoken and written Swedish is meriting and mandatory in the long term.
