SUMMARY:
Maintains, coordinates, and initiates safety practices in the facility to comply with all State and Federal Health and Safety regulations and requirements. This position works closely with all in-house personnel and outside vendors to foster a safe working environment for employees, visitors, and vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Health and Safety audits and corrects deficiencies.
- Responsible for regulatory update compliance.
- Completes all Federal and State required reports and forms concerning Health and Safety issues.
- Coordinates Safety training in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health and safety.
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Assist local management in investigating accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
- Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
- Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.
- Lead and deploy the HSE management system on its site
- Assist and report to the site management and the HSE management of his/her division in the fields of Occupational Health and Safety and the Environment
- Ensure compliance with legal and other applicable HSE requirements at the site
- Ensure compliance with procedures, instructions, HSE guidelines, and golden rules
- Ensures, in collaboration with the other service/department managers, that the equipment at his/her site is in good condition and operates safely. If this is not the case, he/she will ensure that protective measures are taken and/or that the equipment is consigned
- Ensure the progress of HSE actions
- Relay and lead the HSE communication on his site
- Prepare and (co-)lead the HSE management review
- Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years of related experience in manufacturing and industrial safety. Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and organizational skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (word, excel, outlook & PowerPoint) to communicate and prepare reports and presentations.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Database software; Internet software; and Microsoft office products (word, excel, outlook & PowerPoint) to communicate and prepare reports and presentations.
