The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. OurFacilities & Grounds team is in search of people who are passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. There is nothing that compares to coming to work surrounded by over 10,000 animals! This position is non-exempt part-time position under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Essential Job Functions *Duties will include, but are not limited to the following*
- Custodial and grounds maintenance.
- Various building and restroom cleaning / presentation.
- Sanitation of Zoo grounds to keep our guests safe.
- Taking direction and working independently and with a team.
- Assist with other related duties as required.
- Collaborate with the team to address specific projects, events, or areas requiring attention.
- Monitor and report any issues related to health and safety and cleanliness.
- Contribute to the cleanliness of public areas, including walkways and seating areas.
- Work in compliance with safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure environment for both guests and staff.
Minimum Training & Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Must have the physical ability to work on your feet up to 8 hours a day and be able to walk the zoo grounds for several hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in the summer heat/ winter cold.
- Understand the importance of a clean and safe working environment.
- Have a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
