Position Summary:
The Parts Specialist is responsible for procuring parts and materials for jobs, assisting in scheduling routine maintenance, purchasing inventory for stock or seasonal demands, observing and maintaining pricing structure with vendors, and tracking and filing warranty parts with manufacturers. This position is Monday-Friday, and the hours are 10:00 am-6:30 pm.
Your Role:
- Generate reports, purchase orders, emails, quotes, vendor advertising, technical manuals, part manuals
- Maintaining proper inventory of in-shop parts
- Order specific parts for jobs per technical repair orders and at the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Investigate alternative resources/vendors for products, equipment, and supplies for cost savings
- Assist with purchasing, vendor pricing, and staffing problems at other facilities.
- Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
- Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
Your Skills:
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Working knowledge of heavy equipment and the transportation industry
- Ability to read and understand technical diagrams/data and explain to others
- Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather,
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated clerical skills
- Efficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 1-2 years experience in either purchasing or inventory management
