The Opportunity…
- Develop and execute media plans
- Pitch stories to various media outlets
- Develop and maintain relationships with local state and national journalists
- Experience with PR software platforms (Meltwater Cision)
- Monitoring media coverage and using analytical tools to measure the effectiveness of media strategies
- Develop and maintain media contact lists
- Prepare Spokespeople for interviews and public speaking engagement
- Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, pitches, and other communications
- Manage media data bases and contact lists
- Draft and distribute press releases and media advisories.
- Respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Identify and capitalize on media opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and media landscapes.
- Monitor media coverage and report results to internal teams
What you need to bring to this role...
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- Proven ability to build and maintain media relationships.
- Proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of media landscapes and trends.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
Where you will sit and the places you may go…
This position is remote and may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc. Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($17-$26 per hour), plus the benefits below.
